Résumé. - Les programmes de «re-planting» commencés dans les années 1960, réactivés le plus souvent en début des années 1980 avec l'aide de la Banque Mondiale, font de larges progrès. Respectivement, 55 % et 49 % des cultures paysannes d'hévéas ont été ainsi renouvelés en Malaysia et en Thaïlande. L'Indonésie a pris du retard mais suit (112000 ha en 1990). A l'exception de ce pays, il s'agit d'opérations financées par une taxe spéciale à l'exportation du caoutchouc et par conséquent effectuées à titre gratuit pour la paysannerie. Les travaux placés sous contrôle technique des agents de l'agriculture mènent à de très belles plantations, mais l'arrêt du suivi des opérations, à maturité des arbres, pèse sur les résultats : 1 t à 1,1 t/ha au lieu des 1,5 à 1,6t espérées. Abstract. - The re-planting programs started in the early 1960s ; they were re-inforced at the beginning of the 1980s with the financial assistance of the World Bank and they are making substantial progresses. Respectively, 55 % and 49 % of the rubber smallholdings have been re-planted in Malaysia and Thailand. Indonesia remains behind but follows all the same (112 000 ha replanted in 1990). Except for this last country, these projects are financed by a special rubber export tax and are carried out on a grant basis for the beneficiaries. The works carried out under permanent technical control result in plantations of a high potential but the lack of the follow up of the technical assistance after maturity of the trees weigh upon the results : 1,1 t/ha instead of 1,5 to 1,6 t as expected.
