L'étude d'un centre régional d'information jeunesse visant à « promouvoir [la] participation [des jeunes] comme membres actifs dans la société » révèle la mise en œuvre concomitante de plusieurs dispositifs de participation qui peuvent être envisagés comme formation à différents registres de citoyenneté. En venant s'informer, en étant accompagnés dans leurs projets et en participant aux actions proposées, de nombreux jeunes développent une citoyenneté juridique et civile. À côté de ces opportunités explicitement proposées à tous, l'institution repère et incite les jeunes qui leur semblent aptes à s'investir dans sa gouvernance. Cette socialisation à la citoyenneté politique est ainsi structurée socialement : les jeunes qui s'impliquent ont un niveau d'instruction et souvent une première expérience citoyenne qui leur permet d'intégrer la fonction d'administrateur. Youth information : civic socialisation for all young people? The study of a regional youth information centre aiming to "promote the participation of young people as active members in society” demonstrates the concomitant implementation of several frameworks of participation that can be considered as providing training for different kinds of citizenship. By coming to the centre to access information, or assistance with their projects, and by participating in the activities organised in the centre, many young people develop a sense of legal and civil citizenship. In addition to the opportunities openly provided to all, the centre also identifies and encourages young people who seem likely to be able to invest in managing it. This socialisation to political citizenship is thus socially structured : the young people who are involved in this have a level of education and often an initial experience in active citizenship that allows them to take on the role of administrators.
