Dans le domaine de la santé, l'explosion du big data met en lumière les dangers que peut représenter pour l'individu le regroupement des données et traces le concernant, pour constituer un profil toujours plus fin, qui peut aboutir à la stigmatisation et à la privation de droits. Mais quel choix est laissé à l'individu de partager ses données de santé ? Le consentement peut être un leurre, voire se révéler inopérant pour les traitements de données de santé de la sphère publique. Seule l'inclusion de l'individu informé dans le processus d'utilisation de ses données peut réellement donner sens à l'autodétermination informationnelle comme élément de responsabilisation des membres d'une communauté démocratique libre. Health, big data and informational self-determination: which articulation for a protective innovation of personal data?In the field of health, the explosion of big data highlights the dangers that can represent for the individual the grouping of his or her data and traces, to profile him or her more and more precisely. This may lead to the stigmatization and deprivation of individual rights. But what choice is left to the individual? Can he or she refuse to share his or her health data? Consent can be a decoy, or even be ineffective for the processing of health data in the public sphere. Only the inclusion of the informed individual in the process of using his or her data can really give meaning to informational self-determination as an element of empowerment of members of a free democratic community.
