Résumé anglais The "Signe de piste" series. For a cultural history of the boy scout movement in France, Christian Guérin. From the late 1930s to the mid-1960s, the "Signe de piste" (path or track sign) series embodied the culture of French scouting for generations. Through the success of its authors, in particular Serge Dalens, the father of Prince Eric, through the efficacy of its illustrators, above all Joubert, through the consistency of its youthful universe and its aristocratie values, it succeeded in shaping a whole individual and group imaginary world. Its analysis relies on the notion of System of representations more than on ideology.
