- ORIGINES ET MÉTAMORPHOSES DE LA NOUVELLE DROITE - Pierre-Andre Taguieff p. 3-22 Origins and metamorphoses of the French New Right, Pierre-André Taguieff. The French New Right, which grew in the 1970s and the 1980s, seems to have become an empty shell today. But the itinerary of its best theortician, Alain de Benoist, shows that this movement was able to bring up, early and continuously, the issues of roots and identity that are haunting Europe today.

- MULTICULTURALISME ET MARGINALISATION À LOS ANGELES. DE WATTS (1965) À SOUTH CENTRAL (1992) - Cynthia Ghorra-Gobin p. 23-32 Multiculturalism and marginalization in Los Angeles. From Watts (1965) to South Central (1992), Cynthia Ghorra-Godin. From the 1992 South Central events, the author looks on the major upheavals that have marked Los Angeles in the last two decades: the shifts in population composition since the spectacular arrival of the Hispanics, the socio-economic and inter-ethnic tensions stemming from de-industralization, the limits of political regulation. The sudden riots of 1992, just as the permanent tensions underlying urban life, reflect mainly the failure of a town planning which focused on spatial expansion and individual housing to the detriment of the development of a genuinely public space able to blend the various communities.
- MISES EN SCÈNE DU CORPS À LA BELLE ÉPOQUE - André Rauch p. 33-44 The staging of the body during the Belle Epoque, André Rauch. By renewing genres and styles, cafés concerts and music halls changed the landscape of Paris shows. A new type of leisure appeared and spread. In baring bodies, these performances created new emotions and other ways of ritualizing shows. Spectators were kept at a distance from the stage and showed their feelings by words, violence being stylized and codified. A new culture spread through cities, bringing different ways of occupying and investing space.
- LA COLLECTION "SIGNE DE PISTE". POUR UNE HISTOIRE CULTURELLE DU SCOUTISME EN FRANCE - Christian Guérin p. 45-61 The "Signe de piste" series. For a cultural history of the boy scout movement in France, Christian Guérin. From the late 1930s to the mid-1960s, the "Signe de piste" (path or track sign) series embodied the culture of French scouting for generations. Through the success of its authors, in particular Serge Dalens, the father of Prince Eric, through the efficacy of its illustrators, above all Joubert, through the consistency of its youthful universe and its aristocratie values, it succeeded in shaping a whole individual and group imaginary world. Its analysis relies on the notion of System of representations more than on ideology.
- LES OBSESSIONS D'HENRI BÉRAUD - Frédéric Monier p. 62-74 Henri Béraud's obsessions, Frédéric Monier. The career of Henri Béraud, an intellectual, editorial writer and pamphleteer for the weekly Gringoire, was marked by a break in 1934. Until then, Béraud was mainly a famous and recognized writer. Afterwards, he expressed his anti-semitic, anti-Communist and anti-English commitment which was to lead to collaboration with the Germans. In addition to the traditional explanations of the passage from the socialistic left to the admiration of fascism, Béraud's case shows the desire to be an intellectual with an audience and the inner contradictions of a man torn between a paternal Dreyfusard-type heritage and obsessive anti-semitism.
- « CALIBAN », UNE REVUE DE VULGARISATION INTELLECTUELLE ? - Corinne Renou p. 75-84 Caliban, a journal of intellectual popularization? Corinne Renou. The founders of Caliban, issued clandestinely during the Second World War, wanted it to be a tool of reflection for peace. Its editor-in-chief, Jean Daniel, also saw in it, in the early years of the Cold War, a way of fighting the fashion of "digests", by full publication of original literary and philosophie texts. The monthly, a mouthpiece of "left intellectuals", took pride in publishing the greatest names in literature and the social sciences, whatever their ideological position. Very jealous ot its financial independence, the journal ceased publication in 1951 when it was bought by Hachette.
- COMBAT ET LA GUERRE D'ALGÉRIE - Anne-Marie Duranton-Crabol p. 86-96 Combat and the Algerian war, Anne-Marie Duranton-Crabol. Born during the Resistance, was the daily newspaper Combat so favorable to French Algeria that it manifested sympathy for the OAS? The reality was more complex. The paper attempted to reconcile its dream of a fraternal Algeria with non-negligible help to the nationalist and anti-gaullist team of Esprit public, while keeping its unfailing commitment to opinion pluralism. The contradictions of the paper help us measure the scope of the national crisis brought about by the Algerian tragedy.

- UN ÉTAT DES RECHERCHES SUR L'HISTOIRE DU VIETNAM - Hugues Tertrais p. 97-114 The state of research on the history of Vietnam, Hugues Tertrais. A history that is too political, splintered, foundering on the obstacles of stereo-typed language - or language itself - and nevertheless already devoted to the study of an old state tradition : such is the record of world research on Ho Chi Minh's country. One precious encouragement: it is indeed the history of the present that appears likely to bear tomorrow the long awaited synergies.
