| Résumé |
Cette introduction a pour but de mettre en perspective l'effectivité de la mixité et de l'égalité des sexes dans l'éducation en s'appuyant sur des contributions provenant des diverses sciences sociales et mettant en valeur les multiples acteurs et actrices des espaces asiatiques. À partir de cas d'études portant sur des systèmes éducatifs et des terrains observés in situ en Asie (Chine, Corée du Sud, Japon, Inde, Laos, Cambodge et Indonésie), l'article montre combien le genre constitue un opérateur au cœur des processus des mobilités tant spatiales (jeux, organisation des espaces scolaires, migrations) que sociales (hiérarchisation, représentation, mise en scène, ascension sociale, transmission) et quelle est la réalité des interactions filles-garçons à l'intérieur des écoles et des salles de classe. L'examen des lieux, scolaires et périscolaires, permet également de mesurer le poids des actions tant individuelles que les dispositifs juridiques et légaux qui définissent la mixité et s'ils garantissent toujours son application au sein des espaces et temps de la scolarité. This introduction puts into perspective the effectiveness of gender equality and coeducation in education in Asian countries, based on contributions that use a multidisciplinary approach in order to highlight the different actors in the spaces of these countries. Based on case studies of educational systems and various fields observed in situ in Asia (China, Japan, Korea, India, Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia), the article shows how gender plays a key role at the heart of the process of both spatial mobilities (games, organization of school spaces, migrations) and social mobilities (hierarchisation, representation, staging, social rise, transmission). It highlights the concrete reality of what boys and girls are experiencing daily during school life. Through the analysis of these different school and out-of-school places, we shall understand why the legal and legal devices that define gender equality/coeducation do not guarantee its application within the different spaces and time of schooling.
