Before being verified or rejected by the reality of historical evolution, the deconstruction of the nation-state is first an intellectual operation. Whether it be celebrated or feared, the "nation-state crisis" deals with some presuppositions that have to be put in perspective: the presupposition of the end of empires, that of the splitting of the nation through identity politics or the idea of the entry in a new "post-national era". | |
