En 1999 à Seattle, la conférence ministérielle de l'Organisation mondiale du commerce a suscité d'importantes manifestations émaillées de violences. Vingt ans plus tard, il apparaît que les objectifs des manifestants n'ont pas été atteints. Le commerce international, en particulier, a connu un fort essor. Toutefois, la contestation et la colère ont pris de l'ampleur. In 1999 in Seattle, the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization generated major demonstrations scattered with violence. Twenty years later, it seems that the demonstrators' objectives have not been achieved. International business, in particular, has experienced significant growth. However, the protests and anger have increased. The populists promoting deglobalization have been better able to take advantage of the rejection of globalization than the anti-globalists themselves.
