Again About the Russian Conjunction a to
This article aims to prove that the functionment of the Russian conjunction a to can receive a unifíed description, based on a semantic nucleus common to all its usually recognized employments. The conjunction would always refer – thanks to the properties of its components : conjunction a and pronoun to – to a discourse universe w"alt", opened by the tacite proposition – p which is extracted from the left context, so that the proposition q which follows a to should be true in w"alt". The conjunction thus correlates the propositions p and q which are true in alternative discourse universes. The variate uses of a to could then be an effect of the diversity of its semantic components, still this diversity always obeys to a general constraint posed by a to on p and q: their belonging to alternative discourse universes.
