S'appuyant sur la conception woltonienne non négative de l'incommunication, cet article se propose de poursuivre les propositions de Dominique Wolton en reliant communication et incommunication sous une forme théorique faisant appel aux principes fondateurs de la pensée chinoise de sens commun issus du Yijing (Livre des mutations). Pour ce faire, nous proposons de penser la communication humaine sous la forme d'un triptyque comprenant deux opposés complémentaires – communication et incommunication – ainsi qu'un espace, limbique et videmédian, de rencontre potentielle dans lequel se matérialisent les interactions successives des différentes gradations des deux opposés dans la dynamique des situations de communication. L'apport chinois est ici pensé comme source potentielle d'enrichissement conceptuel permettant de théoriser l'incommunication autrement que dans le sens négatif engendré a priori par son préfixe privatif. On the basis of Dominique Wolton's nonnegative conception of incommunication, this article relates communication and incommunication through a theoretical approach that calls on the founding principles of the Chinese view of common sense, as developed in the I Ching [The Book of Changes]. To this end, human communication is understood as a triptych composed of two complementary opposites – communication and incommunication – and a space of limbo, of median void, and of potential encounter ; in this space, the successive interactions of the different gradations of the two opposites materialize within the dynamics of communication situations. The Chinese contribution is conceived of here as a potential source for conceptual enrichment, one that allows incommunication to be theorized in a way that is not negative, as might otherwise be suggested by the negation in the term's prefix.
