Enquêter sur les entreprises chinoises du BTP en Algérie permet d'approcher un phénomène marquant et significatif du processus de globalisation. Il contribue à la compréhension, à la fois, de la situation des entreprises chinoises du BTP présentes dans le pays et celle de leurs concurrentes algériennes.Au-delà de sa dimension propre, il permet également d'analyser les mutations du marché du travail et met également en lumière les pratiques et représentations de l'altérité qui s'articulent aux rapports de production et de travail.Grâce à un travail de terrain auprès de trois filiales chinoises de BTP implantées au nord-est de l'Algérie, cet article met en avant des observations inédites. Elles présentent d'une part la mobilisation de la main-œuvre locale et chinoise par lesdites entreprises et le type d'organismes partenaires opérant avec elles sur les projets. De l'autre part, les stratégies qu'elles déploient pour adapter leur organisation au marché algérien et les questions conflictuelles autour des expropriations de terrain pour l'installation des bases de vie de ces entreprises ou pour l'exploitation des carrières de matières premières de construction. Surveys of Chinese construction companies in Algeria allow to approach a significant and significant phenomenon of the process of globalization. It contributes to the understanding, at the same time, of the situation of the Chinese construction companies present in the country and that of their Algerian competitors.Beyond its own dimension, it also makes it possible to analyze the changes in the labor market and also highlights the practices and representations of otherness that are articulated to the relations of production and work.Through field work with three Chinese construction subsidiaries located in northeastern Algeria, this article highlights unpublished observations. They present, on the one hand, the mobilization of local and Chinese labor by these companies and the type of partner organizations working with them on the projects. On the other hand, the strategies they deploy to adapt their organization to the Algerian market and the conflicting issues around the expropriations of land for the installation of the living bases of these companies or for the exploitation of the quarries of raw materials construction.
