En repartant d'un des tableaux les plus souvent cités par les ouvrages relatifs à l'art nazi, les Werksoldaten de Ferdinand Staeger, dont la source photographique est ici restituée, l'article décrit la sédimentation politique et culturelle que recèlent ces images. Il souligne par là l'historicité essentielle des figures de la propagande, qui ne se réduisent pas à la simple traduction en images des intentions des dirigeants politiques, mais restent les produits d'une initiative individuelle en même temps que les témoins d'une culture collective. | |
| Résumé anglais | The Order of Images. Visual Culture and Propaganda in Nazi Germany, André Gunthert. Going back over one of the most often cited paintings in Nazi art, the Werksoldaten by Ferdinand Staeger, whose photographic source is provided here, the article describes the political and cultural sedimentation that these images yield. It thus points out the essential historicity of the figures of the propaganda that do not reduce the intentions of the political leaders to the simple translation into images, but remain the products of an individual initiative while at the same time the witnesses of a collective culture. | |
