On attend du jeune officier la maîtrise des fondamentaux militaires et technico-opérationnels, mais aussi la capacité d'adaptation et d'invention pour faire face à l'imprévu. Au savoir et au savoir-faire s'ajoutent le savoir-penser et le savoir-être, essentiels pour agir dans l'adversité. La transmission au jeune chef de la culture du métier des armes passe par la construction d'une personnalité en usant d'exemplarité, de responsabilisation, de confiance. L'enjeu consiste à ne pas former de simples exécutants, mais des officiers capables d'agir au combat et d'imaginer des solutions dans le cadre de la mission reçue en portant, en toutes circonstances, les valeurs de leur pays. The young officer is expected to have a mastery of military and technical-operational fundamentals, as well as the ability to adapt and be inventive in order to deal with unexpected situations. To knowledge and know-how one can add the ability to think and interpersonal skills, which are essential to effective action under adverse conditions. The transmission of army culture to the young officer requires the construction of a personality with an exemplary nature, responsabilisation and trust. The objective is not to merely train people who follow orders, but officers who can take action in combat and imagine solutions within the framework their mission in accordance with the values of their country under all circumstances.
