Le système concentrationnaire nazi représente l'un des paradigmes les plus accomplis du mal, dans sa dimension la plus radicale, que l'homme peut infliger à ses congénères. Certains ont survécu. Rares sont ceux qui en ont parlé : l'expérience intime du trauma suscite l'effroi et se refuse à la pensée comme aux mots. Trois écrivains ayant connu l'internement dans les camps, Robert Antelme, Primo Levi et Jorge Semprun, ont cherché à transmettre par l'écriture tout autant un témoignage de leur expérience qu'une revendication de vie et une interrogation sur la condition humaine. La fulgurance d'un très court récit de Maurice Blanchot relatant son passage devant le peloton d'exécution ajoute un autre point de vue sur l'expérience de se sentir mort et le sentiment proche de la grâce ressenti au seuil ultime. L'ensemble de ces textes nous permettra d'aborder la question de l'ineffable, mais aussi ce qui, de ces expériences, peut ou non être transmissible à d'autres. The Nazi system of concentration camps is one of the most accomplished paradigms of evil in its most radical dimension that man can inflict on other men. Some have survived. Very few people have spoken of them: their personal experience of the trauma suffered give rise to feelings of dread and terror and thoughts and words fail them. Three writers who were imprisoned in the camps (Robert Antelme, Primo Levi and Jorge Semprun) have sought to transmit through writing an eyewitness account of their experience and a claim to life and a questioning of the human condition. The brilliance of a very short account by Maurice Blanchot describing his passage in front of the firing squad adds another point of view to the experience of feeling death and a sentiment approaching a feeling of thanks felt at the final barrier. As a whole, these texts will allow us to address the question of the ineffable, but also the question of whether these experiences can or cannot be transferred to others. Finally, the focus of this work is the choices and processes of writing, with a view to rendering possible the inclusion of the dreadful content of their experience.
