La trahison est une réalité militaire et politique qui a marqué notre histoire. Au XXe siècle, l'attaque de Mers el-Kébir par les Britanniques a été perçue comme une trahison par les Français, tandis que l'occupation de la zone libre en novembre 1942 constitue une violation des conventions de l'armistice de juin 1940. L'aveuglement et une discipline absolue d'une grande partie du corps des officiers de l'armée de Vichy ont abouti à un fiasco. En 1956, la crise de Suez, même si elle ne constitue pas une trahison, est marquée par un lâchage politique de la part de Washington. Betrayal is a military and political reality that has marked our history. In the 20th century, the attack on Mers-el-Kébir by the British was seen as a betrayal by the French, while the occupation of the “zone libre” (free zone) in 1942 constituted a violation of the armistice conventions of 1940. The blindness and absolute discipline of a large part of the officer corps of the Vichy army led to a fiasco. In 1956, the Suez crisis, even if it did not constitute a betrayal, marked a political abandonment by Washington.
