Cet article propose de revenir sur la trajectoire complexe de Marcel Reich-Ranicki entre la Pologne et l'Allemagne, depuis sa naissance à Włocławek en 1920 jusqu'à son émigration à Berlin à l'âge de 9 ans, son retour forcé vers la Pologne en 1938, sa survie dans et hors du ghetto de Varsovie, son engagement dans le parti communiste polonais et les fonctions qu'il occupa au sein de la police politique jusqu'à sa fuite en 1958. On s'intéressera ce faisant à la manière dont cet auteur a été perçu en Pologne, en particulier dans les années récentes où de nombreux articles sont revenus sur son parcours et ses années polonaises. This paper investigates the complex life path of German literary critic Marcel Reich-Ranicki, between Poland and West Germany, since his birth in Polish Włocławek in 1920, his emigration to Berlin at the age of 9, his forced return to Poland in 1938, his survival in and outside the Warsaw ghetto, his commitment in the Polish Communist Party and the secret police until his escape to West Germany in 1958. How does Reich-Ranicki tell about this part of his life, what does his narrative reveals about his feelings towards Poland and how is he perceived in Poland?
