Dans ce texte de 1960, Karl Löwith s'interroge sur l'origine de la « perte de monde » qui caractérise selon lui la situation de l'homme moderne. Il met au jour les sources judéo-chrétiennes de l'occultation du monde naturel par le monde humain et historique, et montre comment le subjectivisme de la philosophie moderne a encore renforcé cet acosmisme. In this text from 1960, Karl Löwith explores the origins of “worldlessness,” which he considers to characterize the situation of the modern human. He brings to light the Judeo-Christian sources of the occultation of the natural world by the human-historical world and shows how the subjectivism of modern philosophy has further reinforced this worldlessness.
