This essay analyses the role of cinema in Julio Cortázar‟s short story “We love Glenda so much”. Intertextual links between cinema and the story will be examined in the first instance, to subsequently present a parallel between Benjamin‟s ideas on the revolutionary potential of cinema (or any art) and Cortázar‟s depiction of the medium as a living cultural discourse.
