Ali Ansari nous livre ici sa réflexion sur ce qu'est devenue la révolution iranienne vingt ans après. Il s'interroge sur les conditions de réussite du processus de réforme actuel mené par le président Khatami en se tournant vers le passé politique de l'Iran, notamment la révolution constitutionnelle du début de ce siècle. Il considère ainsi que le courant réformateur incarné par Mohamed Khatami a pris durablement le dessus sur les conservateurs parce qu'il s'appuie sur une volonté réformatrice de la société iranienne. Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que les changements se feront sans soubresauts, ainsi que Vont démontré les manifestations estudiantines de 1999. The Iranian Revolution, Twenty Years On, by Ali Ansari The following paper argues that the current political and social developments taking place in Iran are firmly situated within historical developments in Iran in the 20l century. Drawing on the lessons of the Constitutional Revolutionists of 1906 and the national Front movement of 1951-1953, as well as the ideals of the early days of the Islamic Revolution, today's Reformists represent the culmination of a social process imbued with a powerful myth of political emancipation.
