Résumé anglais The post-war development of mountain recreational resorts was accompanied by numerous debates, controversies and struggles between different schools of thought. This article attempts to identify some of the key elements and events in this debate through an analysis of the opinions expressed in certain specialised reviews by some of the main actors involved in the planning and development of mountain areas for ter sports (property developers, architects, planners, public works engineers). Based on thoughts and proposals, and the development of their ideas regarding development, planning and architecture in winter sports resorts, the author is enable to identify a change in the response to the questions asked in the title of this article, and thus, at the same time, a change in certain aspects of the mountain landscape with the development of outdoor recreation.
