Crossing the Italian Western Alps to re-examine the notion of an architectural type in the alpine areas today Antonio De Rossi Resume : Le concept d'architecture alpine, largement admis, est pourtant très imprécis. L'auteur nous invite à une lecture historique des différentes phases de construction du concept ; si chaque période a vu des opposi- tions dans les contenus et la signification du concept, au fond, ces oppositions étaient plus formelles que profondes. The concept of an alpine architecture, although widely accepted, is not at all precise. The author offers an historical examination of the different phases in the construction of this concept. Although each period has been marked by opposing views with respect to both the content and the meaning of the concept, such opposition has in reality been more formal than deep-rooted.
