Cet article rend compte de l'étude d'une initiative de gouvernance collaborative destinée à introduire des mesures innovantes de sécurité routière dans une juridiction canadienne. Il montre comment une attention aux pratiques de communication et à leurs effets constitutifs permet de saisir de quelles manières les acteurs gèrent l'un des principaux défis connus de ce type d'initiative : celui d'affronter les tensions inévitables entre l'impératif de représenter les intérêts de son organisation d'appartenance, et de collaborer positivement à la productivité du groupe. L'article décrit les manifestations de ces tensions et dégage deux types de pratiques communicatives permettant de composer avec elles dans le cas d'une collaboration réussie. This article reports on the study of a collaborative governance initiative aimed at introducing innovative road safety measures in a Canadian jurisdiction. It shows how close attention to the members' communicative practices and their constitutive effects provides a better understanding of the ways in which actors handle a central and well-known challenge of this type of initiative : that of dealing with the inevitable tensions between the imperative of representing the interests of one's own organization and the need to collaborate and contribute to the group's objective in a constructive way. The article describes the manifestations of these tensions and pinpoints two types of communicative practices enabling members to deal with them in the case of a successful collaboration.
