L'éthique porte sur les devoirs et les vertus afférents à chaque état humain. Celle propre à l'état de guerrier est fixée par ce qui le définit, à savoir le risque d'être tué et le droit de tuer. Mettre sa vie en danger au service du bien commun, c'est se sacrifier jusqu'à l'héroïsme et dans le sentiment de l'honneur. Ethics are concerned with the duties and virtues pertaining to each human state. The ethics of the warrior are determined by what defines that state, namely the risk of being killed and the right to kill. To put one's life in danger in the service of the common good is to sacrifice oneself to the point of heroism and with a sense of honour.
