 Limites, sociétés et politique
Résumé anglais According to Roberto Schwarz, Brazilians, from their Independence, treat paradoxically, or ironically, the problem of adjusting modern foreign ideas to local pragmatics - also foreign, although archaic -, transmuting such dissonances into chords only understood by them. However, once this process is understood, their oikos remains empty. Perhaps better than imagining the limits in a global world, we should remember that, in addition to the aggregation of practices and “out of place ideas”, we also received the place, expropriated from indigenous people and built by slaves. And question territorial violations we have perpetrated for centuries against "extranational minorities that still resist total dissolution by the modernizing blender of the West". (Viveiros de Castro, 2015) To think about the relationship with space, identity and the Other, according to the theory of place by Davi Kopenawa and Bruce Albert, present in The Falling Sky: Words of a Yanomami Shaman, is the intention of this paper.
