Le but de cette présentation est l'analyse du rôle du tiers dans le processus de réintégration sociale de sans-abris. La recherche participative sur les sans-abris qui restent en dehors du système d'assistance sociale est devenue une source puissante de connaissances sur ces personnes. Les champs d'actions pris en charge par le tiers, ainsi que ses choix émanant de rôles existant de manière symbolique – comme intermédiaire, médiateur, animateur – étaient fixés par les besoins quotidiens des sans-abris. L'analyse du processus de l'engagement du tiers et sa présence créant un lien, une relation, entre les sans-abris et les citadins, a permis de faciliter l'accomplissement d'un arrangement, mais était aussi souvent le seul moyen d'entrer en interaction. Le tiers est donc représentatif des sans-abris dans le monde des «?normaux?», mais aussi représentatif des «?normaux?» dans le monde des sans-abris?; essayant ainsi de traduire la réalité de ces deux mondes pour ceux qui s'en trouvent très loin. The aim of the presentation is the analysis of the role of the third in the process of social reintegration of homeless men. The participatory research on homeless men who remained outside the system of social assistance became a great source of knowledge about them. The fields of action undertaken by the third and at the same time his choices from among the roles existing in a symbolic way, as: intermediary, mediator, animator, catalyst; were appointed by the everyday needs of the homeless. The analysis of the process of engagement of the third and his presence in relationships between the homeless and urbanites – the normal, not only facilitated the reaching of an agreement, but was often the only means leading to interaction. The third is thus the representative of homeless in the world of the normals and at the same time, the representative of the normals in the world of homeless, trying to translate for those from seemingly two far away worlds.
