Cet article porte sur un projet controversé de construction d'un hôpital dans une forêt classée située à la périphérie de Bobo-Dioulasso au Burkina Faso. L'objectif principal est d'analyser la position des acteurs vis-à-vis du projet : préserver la forêt ou y construire l'hôpital ? Fondée sur une approche socio-spatialiste qui prend appui sur des données secondaires et primaires, l'analyse montre que la conduite du projet n'a pas été participative, d'où la polémique et la résistance de certaines personnes à sa réalisation, au regard des enjeux socio-politiques et environnementaux pluriels. Aussi, note-t-on que les instruments de planification spatiale existants sont incohérents, cela ne permet pas de situer les acteurs pour le choix idéal de l'implantation de l'hôpital, dans une vision holistique de mixité fonctionnelle. This article focuses on a controversial project to build a hospital in a classified forest on the outskirts of Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. The main objective is to analyse the position of the stakeholders with regard to the project : to preserve the forest or to build the hospital there ? Based on a socio-spatialist approach that draws on secondary and primary data, the analysis shows that the project was not conducted in a participatory manner, hence the controversy and resistance of some people to its implementation, given the many socio-political and environmental issues at stake. Also, it is noted that the existing spatial planning instruments are incoherent ; this does not allow the actors to better situate the ideal choice of the hospital's location, in a holistic vision of functional mix.
