	Résumé	Depuis les années 2010 en France, une politique ciblée sur une catégorie d'« immigré » est organisée dans le cadre de la lutte contre les inégalités face au diabète. À l'appui d'un terrain ethnographique en milieu hospitalier, cet article interroge la manière dont les malades ainsi ciblés appréhendent, s'adaptent et mobilisent ces identités assignées. Après avoir analysé la manière dont les catégories ethniques sont utilisées par les soignants et modifient la trajectoire de soins, l'article revient sur comment les soignés perçoivent la relation de soins et sur les obstacles à la dénonciation des discriminations. Enfin, l'article met en évidence les limites de la possibilité d'agir des soignés tant individuellement que collectivement, participant paradoxalement au renforcement d'un ordre social inégalitaire. 	Résumé anglais	Since the 2010s in France, a policy targeting a category of “immigrant” has been organized as part of the fight against inequalities in diabetes. Based on an ethnographic fieldwork in a hospital setting, this article questions the way in which the patients targeted apprehend, adapt and mobilize these assigned identities. After analyzing the way in which ethnic categories are used by caregivers and modify the care trajectory, the article looks at how carers perceive the relationship to care and the obstacles to denouncing discrimination. Finally, the article highlights the limits to the possibility of action of the cared-for, individually and collectively, paradoxically participating in the reinforcement of an unequal social order.
