Cet entretien survient quelques mois à peine après la libération de Roland Marchal des prisons iraniennes, et alors que notre collègue Fariba Adelkhah est toujours détenue. Il est notamment l'occasion de revenir sur la façon dont les institutions de recherche – à travers certaines de leurs collaborations institutionnelles (armée, diplomatie, bailleurs de fonds internationaux…) – peuvent non seulement perdre en autonomie scientifique, mais mettre en danger des chercheurs, jetant le doute sur l'autonomie de leur travail. Au-delà du seul cas iranien, l'entretien aborde la position délicate des chercheurs travaillant sur des terrains réputés difficiles, dont l'expertise est régulièrement sollicitée ou censurée par les institutions pourvoyeuses de financement. This interview comes just a few months after the release of Roland Marchal from Iranian prisons and while our colleague Fariba Adelkhah is still being detained. The interview is an opportunity to return to the way in which research institutions –through some of their institutional collaborations (army, diplomacy, international donors, etc.)– may not only lose their scientific autonomy, but may also endanger researchers, by casting doubt on the autonomy of their work. The interview goes beyond the Iranian case and addresses the delicate position of researchers working in certain fields that are considered difficult and whose expertise is regularly solicited or censored by the institutions that provide funding.
