Cet article prend comme point de départ le constat de M. Possamaï-Pérez selon lequel Achille figure le Christ dans le livre xii de l'Ovide moralisé. Son travail constitue sans doute un apport considérable à la compréhension de la signification de la matière troyenne dans l'Ovide moralisé. Cependant, aucune étude semblable n'a été faite sur la figure de Pélée. Le présent article avance l'hypothèse que l'interprétation typologique de la matière troyenne peut être étendue au livre xi. En effet, une analyse des v. 1099–2995 de ce livre montre que les péripéties du père d'Achille figurent le destin d'Adam, de sorte qu'une double typologie s'établit : Pélée-Achille/Adam-Christ. This article takes as a starting point M. Possamaï-Pérez's observation that Achilles stands for Christ in book xii of the Ovide moralisé. Possamaï-Pérez's work is undoubtedly a significant contribution to the understanding of the meaning of Trojan material in the work. However, no similar study has been done on the figure of Peleus. The present article argues that the typological interpretation of the Trojan material can be extended to book xi. Indeed, an analysis of v. 1099–2995 shows that the adventures of Achilles' father symbolise the destiny of Adam, so that a double typology is established: Peleus-Achilles/Adam-Christ.
