Dans cet article, nous nous interrogeons sur la manière dont le développement de l'industrie extractive a contribué à la propagation des violences et des dynamiques conflictuelles au Burkina Faso. Pour mieux saisir ces dynamiques, nous nous intéressons à la manière dont les groupes armés transnationaux actifs au Sahel, concurrençant l'autorité centrale des États, s'appuient sur les griefs des populations pour élargir leurs bassins de recrutement et favoriser leur intégration sociale et territoriale. Nous analysons également les liens entre ressources naturelles et conflits armés, puis le processus de rupture avec l'autorité centrale, avant d'appréhender directement l'élargissement des bassins de recrutement des groupes armés dans la région burkinabè du Sahel. This paper examines how the development of extractive industries has contributed to the spread of violence and conflict dynamics in Burkina Faso. In order to gain a better understanding of these dynamics, our research looks at the way in which transnational armed groups in the Sahel, in competition with the central state authorities, mobilise the grievances of the populations to increase their recruitment pools and promote their social and territorial anchoring. We also examine the links between natural resources and armed conflicts, and then look at the process of breaking away from central authority, before directly studying the expansion of the recruitment pools for armed groups in the Burkinabe region of the Sahel.
