La marche militaire est une manœuvre collective et contraignante. Loin des approches hédonistes où vagabondage rime avec jouissance de l'espace et du temps, éveil sensoriel au monde et lâcher prise, la discipline qui soumet les soldats au pas cadencé possède une raison d'être propre. La marche militaire est à la fois un impératif tactique, un moyen de dressage, un habitus dont la dimension symbolique révèle l'état d'esprit du soldat, un facteur de cohésion et une pratique culturelle identificatoire ayant des conséquences opérationnelles. The military march is a collective and constraining maneuver. Far from hedonistic approaches where wandering rhymes with enjoyment of space and time, sensory awakening to the world and letting go, the discipline that subjects soldiers to the cadenced march has its own reason for being. The military march is at the same time a tactical imperative, a means of training, a habitus whose symbolic dimension reveals the state of mind of the soldier, a factor of cohesion and an identifying cultural practice with operational consequences.
