Stephen Bourqueis Professor Emeritus at the School of Advanced Military Studies in Fort Leavenworth Kansas, which is one of the four institutes of the United States Army Command General Staff College. He holds a Ph.D. in US history from Georgia State University and he has written numerous articles and books on the topic of military history and strategy. His current area of interest centers on the D-Day invasion and its aftermath, which he revisits by combining local, national and international histories. This interview intends to foreground issues of methodology, subjectivity and sources while also presenting the main themes covered in Bourque's latest work, titled Beyond the Beach: The Allied War Against France, 1944 (Naval Institute, 2020).
