Résumé anglais In Moon Palace, Paul Auster « lets the story be » and does not allow his text to be submitted to any technical deconstructive process. His « excessive » story-telling however, does not mean that he has returned to the realm of old-time mimesis. His writing keeps questioning the infinite power of text to generate itself and the impossibility to reach any original truth. Far from reflecting reality, stories are for Auster a means of capturing the ontological experience of things.
