Résumé anglais |
This article shows how William Carlos Williams and Frank O'Hara are linked through their relationships with artists and how these relations outline the passage from American modernism to the poetry of the 1950s and 1960s, and more precisely from Williams 's objectivism to O'Hara 's personism. Common points and variations are underlined to show a move from a focus on objects to a focus on persons, from an aspiration to universality to a recognition of the specificity of the self and the other.
