Cet article constitue une réponse partielle à la demande de la Cour des comptes d'analyser la déperdition de candidats à l'installation agricole. En appliquant une typologie originale des candidats hors du cadre familial lors d'une mission visant à compléter le diagnostic installation transmission sur un territoire, nous avons cherché à mieux comprendre les difficultés de renouvellement des générations d'agriculteurs et de leur accompagnement. Nous mettons en évidence que les cédants sont souvent enfermés dans leurs représentations, se limitant à une simple catégorisation cadre familial/hors cadre familial. Pourtant, en les invitant à distinguer les candidats selon leur origine et leur expérience à travers notre typologie, de nouvelles perspectives d'accompagnement deviennent possibles. This article is a partial response to a request from the Cour des Comptes (the French National Audit Office) to analyze the decline in the number of prospective farmers. By applying an original typology of out-of-family applicants during a mission to complete the diagnosis of installation and transmission in a given region, we have sought to better understand the difficulties of renewing generations of farmers and their support. We highlighted the fact that transferors are often locked into their usual representations, limiting themselves to a simple categorization of family/non-family, whereas by inviting them to distinguish candidates according to their origin and experience through our typology, new support perspectives become possible.
