Combining Raymond Murray Schafer's works and Marielle Macé's writings on the disappearance of song from our soundscapes, this study constitutes an ecopoetic and ecoacoustic analysis of the disappearance of birds that accompanies the transition from natural spaces to industrialized places where mechanical rhythms reign in William Carlos Williams's Adam & Eve & The City (1936).
