Résumé anglais This article reflects on forms of domination at the intersection of class, race and gender in the Rocky Mountains (USA), and is itself situated at the intersection of several disciplinary fields. The text proposes avenues of reflection in an attempt to identify the mechanisms by which the hegemony of a normative white, straight, male and upper-middle class body is constituted in the historic place of the Wild West myth. Going beyond a class-based approach, the aim is to present new analytical strata and complementary lines of inquiry, based in particular on a new epistemology of outdoor sports and mountains, drawing on work that sheds light on race and gender issues.
