Lancé en 2020, le projet ALTI-plano vise à réévaluer l'évolution de l'occupation humaine le long des rives orientales du lac Titicaca, en se concentrant sur l'émergence, l'expansion et la transition de phénomènes culturels clés dans les Andes centrales. Ce projet est né d'un constat, celui d'un siècle de recherches inégales sur l'Altiplano circum-Titicaca, et cherche aujourd'hui à développer une synthèse complète et raisonnée des connaissances existantes. Il vise à aborder les dynamiques de peuplement et d'occupation du bassin lacustre du lac Titicaca de la période archaïque (8500 AEC) à la période coloniale (1532-1825 EC), selon une approche de répartition chronologique, spatiale et fonctionnelle, le tout guidé par une réflexion globale sur les dynamiques des relations sociétés-environnement. Cet article présente les défis méthodologiques rencontrés pour la mise en place du projet et résume les études de terrain menées en 2022 permettant le cadastre archéologique exhaustif établi (car répétition)dans la municipalité de Puerto Acosta entre 2023 et 2026. Initiated in 2020, the ALTI-plano project aims to reevaluate the evolution of human occupation along the western shores of Lake Titicaca, focusing on the emergence, expansion, and transition of key cultural phenomena in the Central Andes. This project arises from the recognition of a century of uneven research across the circum-Titicaca Altiplano and now seeks to develop a comprehensive and systematic synthesis of existing knowledge. It addresses the dynamics of settlement from the archaic period (8500 BCE) to the colonial period (1532-1825 CE), analyzing chronological, spatial, and functional distributions while reflecting on society-environment interactions. This article outlines the methodological challenges met during the project development and summarizes the field studies conducted in 2022 that allowed the thorough archaeological cadastral survey in the municipality of Puerto Acosta from 2023 to 2026.
