L'article vise à étudier la construction et les effets d'un rapport genré au travail chez les femmes dans le monde du théâtre. À travers les récits de carrière d'aspirantes au métier de metteuse en scène, qui se sont mobilisées contre les inégalités femmes-hommes, il s'attache à montrer comment les rapports sociaux de sexe alimentent, mais aussi entravent les possibilités de contestation des inégalités. Il examine la construction de l'identité professionnelle des femmes artistes, à travers la socialisation professionnelle et les relations de travail. La confrontation à la division sexuelle du travail artistique et à la mise en cause de la valeur de leur travail produit chez ces femmes un sentiment d'illégitimité et un rapport au travail ambivalent, à la fois mobilisé et dévoué. L'engagement dans le groupe militant permet alors seulement en partie de compenser cette illégitimité, qui se reproduit dans le travail militant. Source : Éditeur (via OpenEdition Journals) |

The aim of this article is to study the construction and effects of a gendered work relationship among women in the world of theatre. Through the career stories of aspiring female directors who have mobilized against gender inequality, it shows how gender relations both fuel and hinder the possibility of contesting inequalities. It examines the construction of the professional identity of women artists, through professional socialization and work relations. Confrontation with the sexual division of artistic labour and the questioning of the value of their work, produces in these women a sense of illegitimacy and an ambivalent relationship to work.
