Une partie de la société française semble avoir importé le conflit du Proche-Orient. Il s'agit, en général, de la minorité musulmane d'origine maghrébine qui s'est sentie particulièrement engagée dans ce conflit et a cherché à ce qu'il soit inévitablement interprété de cette façon en France. D'un autre côté, il y a la communauté juive française qui s'identifie presque inconditionnellement à la cause israélienne et non pas à la politique israélienne. Toutefois, une très faible minorité a cru qu'il fallait traduire l'identification avec la cause palestinienne par des actes contre les Juifs de France. Cette dimension violente de l'importation du conflit constitue un des éléments du nouvel antisémitisme qui met en danger les valeurs fondamentales de la République française. The French Society and the Middle East Conflict The conflict in the Middle East seems to have been imported intentionally by a part of the French community who is generally composed of people from the Muslim minority, who are of North African ancestry. This minority feels truly committed to this conflict. On the other side, the French Jewish community unconditionally recognises itself in the Israeli cause although not in Israel's policy. However, a very small minority of people have found it appropriate to express their solidarity with the Palestinians through hostile acts against the Jews of France.
