      FORETS SOUS LA PLUIE ACIDE DES MOTS Du dépouillement de cinq grandes revues forestières françaises de 1980 à 1989, 79 textes ont été retenus. En évaluant le poids des mots et la place des lieux dans ces articles, on constate que les explications simplistes du début se font plus nuancées, tandis que demeure constant l'emploi d'images empruntées à l'univers médical. La nécessité de prendre en compte la dimension spatiale et temporelle du phénomène émerge progressivement.
      FORESTS IN THE ACID RAIN OF WORDS Review of five major forest journals in France from 1980 to 1989 yielded 79 articles dealing with acid rain. Evaluating the weight given to certain terms and the importance of geographical location in these articles, the author demonstrates that explanations for the phenomenon, initially quite simplistic, became progressively sophisticated. At the same time, the use of medical images remained constant. The importance of considering the spatial and temporal dimension of acid rain gradually became quite clear.

      LES SYNDICATS FRANÇAIS FACE A L'ECOLOGIE (1972-1992) La crise économique a amorti l'intérêt croissant quoique divergent des syndicats CGT, CFDT et FO pour les questions écologiques et affaibli considérablement l'opposition des cédétistes à l'égard du nucléaire. Sous l'influence de la Confédération européenne des syndicats et du Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund, un regain d'intérêt s'observe à partir de 1989 qui ne passe pas forcément à la base.
      FRENCH UNIONS AND THE ECOLOGICAL QUESTION (1972-1992) The growing if divergent interest in ecological questions on the part of the French unions, the CGT, the CFDT and the FO was set back considerably by the economic crisis. In particular, opposition by CFDT members to nuclear power weakened. Thanks to the influence of the European Confederation of Unions and the Deutscher Gewerkschafts, a renewal of interest in environmental matters has been spurred since 1989, though such matters have not necessarily attained a position of central importance.

      LES MOTS DE L'ECOLOGIE A partir d'un corpus de livres de vulgarisation scientifique rédigés par des spécialistes, d'une part, et d'ouvrages de diffusion,de l'autre, répartis de 1974 à 1992, on cherche les modes d'entrée du mot « écologie » en politique et ceux du réseau lexical qui l'entoure, formant ainsi un champ notionnel nouveau dans le domaine.
      THE WORDS OF ECOLOGY On the basis of a body of works of scientific popularization produced by experts, on the one hand, and works of general dissemination, on the other, all written between 1974 and 1992, the author investigates the ways in which the word « ecology » made its entry into politics and how a new conceptual field was created in this area.

      HEIDELBERG, APPEL OU RAPPEL ? Le texte des « scientifiques » lancé de Heidelberg en avril 1992 fait « la part du feu » avec l'écologisme (en reprenant des termes de son discours). Mais il s'efforce en même temps de ressouder le consensus scientifique ébranlé par lui : avec un « nous » omniprésent et des recherches d'effets (de raisonnement, d'insistance péremptoire, d'amalgames péjoratifs, de flou dans la désignation d'un ennemi «écologiste»). L'irrationnel condamne l'irrationnel.
      HEIDELBERG : CALL OR RECALL ? The « scientists » text issued from Heidelberg met ecologism « with fire » (to take up the terms of its own discourse). At the same time, it attempted to rebuild the scientific consensus, shaken by ecologism, through the use of an omnipresent « we » and certain rhetorical effects (of reasoning, of peremptory insistence, of amalgamations of pejorative terms, and of vagueness in the designation of the « ecologist » enemy). The irrational condemned the irrational.
