  • La navigation rhodanienne en 1972 : un constat en fin de cycle - Jacques Bethemont, Joseph Audant p. 317-329 accès libre avec résumé en anglais
Though the Rhône is now doubled almost entirely by a wide-gauged navigation stream, two unoperating sections will remain till 1976. Onto that date, the traffic run by an obsolete fleet will remain unadequate. Nevertheless the analysis of the potential traffic shows that there are enough features to bring about — as soon as the new navigable stream is operating — a modern system of navigation with pushed barges.
  • Les résidences secondaires du Mâconnais : essai d'étude quantitative - Nicole Commerçon p. 331-342 accès libre avec résumé en anglais
This study tries to account for the existence of country residences in the Mâconnais, by the method of multiple regression analysis. According to the site of the main residences of weekenders (especially those from Mâcon, Lyon, Paris) as shown on income tax lists, and in terms of demongraphic, topographic and tourist criteria, it is possible to define the various aspects of the new intrusion of the city into the rural environment. Data and results have been automatically printed with the aid of computers.
  • Quelques observations morphologiques sur les terrasses de la Basse-Isère - Pierre Mandier p. 343-358 accès libre avec résumé en anglais
The following study is wholly concerned with the morphological problems posed by the linging-up of the different terraces on the lower Isère valley, along with either the retreat processes or the lateral overthrusts which complicate any attempt at correlation. Würm levels, first under study, allow one to elucidate the problem of the lateral sloping of certain terraces, then to find and explain why the maximum of würm levels remain only as very restricted outliers in the middle past of the valley (between St. Nazaire and the Herbasse valley) while spreading largely out both upstream (on the St. Marcellin terrace) and downstream (on the Tain terrace). For those terraces prior to Würm one is mainly confronted with the problem of the correlation of Châtillon St. Jean terrace. A detailed study will thus show that terrace links upstream at the level of the Fournel and downstream at the « intermediate » level of Marquet, situated further down on the Fouillouse Mindel terrace and higher up on the St. Marcel-lès-Valence Riss terrace,
  • La Caroline du Sud en mutation - Hugh Clout p. 359-379 accès libre avec résumé en anglais
Striking economic progress has been made in the south-eastern States of the USA since 1945. Farming and traditional manufacturing industries have been diversified and the tertiary and quaternary sectors built up. South Carolina has shared in these changes. However, certain geographical areas and sectors of Southern society have not enjoyed their appropriate share of this recent affluence. Problems of poverty, social deprivation, and economic backwardness remain among Black South Carolinians and especially on the counties of the Coastal Plain for which a special planning organization was established in 1965.
