Bargaining on the introduction of new technologies is innovative less because of the specificity of these technologies thon because it brings into the bargaining process the corporate project. It thus transforms profoundly the traditional bargaining System. Industry-wide agreements are limited to defining procedures and targets, and there is a long way between the corresponding ambitions and the available means of control. Taking the légal form of a consultation, a very autonomous quasi-negotiation takes place in the company, giving increased social responsibility to management as compared to employers' organizations, but also to the elected representatives of staff and labor union locals as compared with national unions and federations. Differentiation in bargaining is growing, concerning both its object and the levels at which it occurs.
Some concepts borrowed from the vocabulary of economies prove suitable for the grasping and analysis of political reality. The concepts of accumulation and reorganization allow the building of an interpretative model of the means by which politicians manage the resources (Personal, institutional and contextual) necessary for the conquest and conservation of power. In that analytical framework, the politician, a genuine investor, does not stop at accumulating resources. He constantly restructures his inventory through a continuous process of discarding and innovation. The local career of Maurice Faure, senator from the department of Lot, provides a test for the model. .
Social science research, particularly in a foreign environment, raises epistemological, ethical, legal and political questions ; the answers have been hitherto strongly colored by subjectivity. The discipline has practiced self-definition. It has also justified the means of its own practice, differentiating itself from other types of social knowledge. But the historic personality of the social object being investigated, even scientifically, implies that it be considered within a more or less formal contractual framework in which it can express its consent to the observation to which it is subjected. Otherwise, social science research has to do with facts more than with rights.

The Périgord félibrée as a rite of identity inversion The Périgord félibrée is a regionalist manifestation in which symbolic practices illustrating a certain type of center-periphery relations are present. The celebration takes the form of an ideal re-creation of the community facing the State. It can thus be classified as one of varions inversion rites which stress the unity and harmony of primary groups. On the day of the félibrée, the local community takes precedence over the State. But this inversion does not reverse the unequal relations between nation and region. It allows a reorganization of order and adjustments of potentially conflictual relations.
The Swiss higher civil servants form an elite not only because of their position at the top of the administrative hierarchy, but also because they often possess other elite functions and attributes, such as University training, high social origins and military officer rank. Such a social position goes along with a political culture which présents, besides some of the characteristic features of the traditional liberal concept of democracy, several elements of a bureaucratie and/or neo-corporatist political culture. These tendencies seem, moreover, to be closely linked to the growing intervention of the State in civil society. They concern above all those civil servants who participate in this movement within decision-making processes which associate higher civil servants and representatives of interest groups.
Public opinion surveys have accustomed us to think in terms of age groups, to accept a given structuring by age and the very idea of a division by age groups. The logic of habitual age groups is here questioned as well as their relevance in two specifie fields : moral norms and political mobilization. The analysis shows the complexity of age effects in both the short run and the long run, and highlights a crucial time in life, between 38 and 46 years.
