Bien qu'un suivi médical régulier et durable soit recommandé aux personnes vivant avec le VIH (virus de l'immunodéficience humaine), certaines le rompent pendant plusieurs mois, voire plusieurs années consécutives, mettant ainsi en péril la stabilité de leur état de santé et le succès des traitements à venir. La compréhension de ces comportements nécessite une approche multidimensionnelle dont cet article rend compte. L'analyse proposée est effectuée à partir d'une étude de terrain réalisée en milieu hospitalier à Kayes, au Mali. Interruptions in clinical follow up among persons living with HIV in Kayes (Mali): an anthropological approach. Although a regular and sustained clinical follow up is recommended for persons living with HIV, some of them interrupt follow up for several months, or even years, putting their health and the efficacy of future treatments in danger. This article argues that a multidimensional approach is required in order to understand these behaviours on the basis of data collected during fieldwork carried out in a hospital setting in Kayes in Mali.
