- Y a-t-il un records manager chez vous ? - Calderan Lisette p. 1
Anchoring the knowledge of school librarians in information and communication sciences ; a matter of professionalization and identity. Can we enhance the professional identity and status of secondary school librarians ? This was the central question of a study that compared the results of two research projects in the secondary and agricultural school systems. A brief review of the history of school librarianship and the librarians' position as both manager and teacher in secondary education is followed by a look at the scientific territory of these teacher-librarians and the nature, in terms of the information and communication sciences, of their discipline.

Pourquoi ? Comment ?
- Présentation - p. 28 Both librarians and archivists have been managing the information explosion in ways that are often obscure to those unfamiliar with their occupations. Records Management emerged in the late 1990s as an opportunity to bring their respective practices closer together and to enhance the credibility of their role in overseeing the entire document life cycle, including the application of information management principles to all documents produced by an organization. The present dossier seeks to show that if standards are relatively stabilized, this emerging profession is developing new practices based on hands-on experience. Here we establish the basic operating principles and share a variety of professional experiences : readers can then decide for themselves whether to introduce this highly structured science in their own working environments.
In little over a decade, a French version of Records Management has made its mark. Standards defined, enhanced status of info-doc professions discussed, practices shared: Records Management is now a separate discipline with its own professionals, strategies, processes and tools. This introduction reviews the issues and defines the domain of “information and document management”. - Comprendre les enjeux et les fondamentaux - Dhérent Catherine, de Grimoüard Claire Sibille, Ott Florence, Brouland Myriel p. 32-42 Understanding the issues and the basics
Did you realize that records and information management was already a topic of discussion in ancient times? This article tells the long story of records management, from its founding steps up through the digital revolution and the development of formal standards that now shape this discipline. Our overview of practices and RM professionals concludes with a discussion of the emergence of this new field. - Mettre en place un projet - Faure Chantal, Pichon Éric, Ducol Laurent, Hagmann Juerg, Huddlestone Philippe p. 44-51 Implementing a project
Applying intelligence and compliance requirements to managing and preserving company documents; exploiting and adding value to your informational capital; keeping costs under control: these all depend on applying well-defined rules for storing and archiving to all records. This article emphasizes the benefits for senior management of a records management program. - Conduire le changement - Morand-Khalifa Nathalie, Dessolin-Baumann Sylvie, Laurent Antoine, Vaillant Susan, Viel-Dworniczek Isabelle, Citeau-Berg Anne p. 52-62 Driving Change
How can we cover the requirements of records management while meeting the challenge of comprehensive, sensible and effective preservation? How can we implement credible procedures that support organizational activities? The author presents the specific stages of a records management project. A prerequisite for any RM program, process analysis is also required at each stage of its implementation. Features and functionalities of this tool are presented. - Sources et ressources - Dessolin-Baumann Sylvie p. 64-65
