- Sur la maturation - Alfred Sauvy p. 3-11 Alfred Sauvy : On Maturation. The author stresses the role of time in a number of fields where its importance is easily underestimated if not completely ignored, the neglect of this factor engendering attitudes leading to failure. To support this idea the author gives historical examples of the time of maturation within a group before the adoption of the rational solution. The clear-sighted avant-garde is accused of treason because new ideas can penetrate only if the field is sufficiently prepared. These considerations, true for a social organism, could perhaps also be applied to biological processes of gestation and growth and to artistic creation.
- Structures lexicales et significations complexes - Joffre Dumazedier p. 12-26 Joffre Dumazedier : Lexical Structures and Complex Significations. Empirical sociology is undertaking more and more the study of vast and complex subjects. The most difficult methodological problem to solve is the elaboration of complex significations which can be treated as single and coherent variables following the process of a behavioral science. The author takes the example of popular culture as an ordered group and sub-groups of interests, types of knowledge, quality-levels, according to explicit criteria. He shows how empirical research can better its possibility of analysis of complex significations, by taking example on structural lexicology in its different process phases.

- Attitudes et comportements des étudiants de l'Université de Lyon en matière d'information. Résultats d'un exercice d'enquête - Guy Durandin p. 27-44 Guy Durandin : Attitudes and Behavior of Students of the University of Lyon toward Information. Partial results of a survey carried out as an exercise by a group of psychology students on a sample composed of fellow students grouped according to sex and specialization. The questionnaire bore on : 1. Media of information used by the students ; 2. The latters' concept of information ; 3. The relations between their studies and the information ; 4. The degree of satisfaction in regard to their means of information ; 5. The degree of information in regard to their own level of information ; 6. Some questions relative to the juridical status and organization of information in the contemporary world. The author analyses more specificaly the results relative to the degree of satisfaction regarding the level of information. He shows that the majority of students are insufficiently informed. These facts appear to result from an over abundance of information, an over absorption in the studies and insufficient training in collecting, analysing, and abstracting various documents.
- Clairvoyance de la perception des choix sociométriques dans les groupes scolarisés. Etude comparative maîtres-élèves - Marcel M. Coste p. 45-50 Marcel M. Coste : Clearsightedness in the perception of sociometric choices in school groups. The aim of this study is to compare two series of data : 1) on the part of teachers empathie perceptions of sociometric choices made by pupils in their own classes ; 2) on the part of pupils empathie perceptions of sociometric choices amongst themselves. On the whole the teachers gave a greater number of exact perceptions than the pupils. However it is possible that the higher degree of clearsightedness ? which only becomes significant at the lowest level of the school hierarchy ? is the reflection of a certain psycho-social immaturity on the part of the young child, which makes it impossible for him empathically to perceive sociometric links.

- L'âge au baptême catholique. Contribution à l'étude de la distribution logistique - Jacques Maître p. 51-67 Jacques Maitre : The Age for Christian Baptism. Sociology of Catholicism considers the age at which a child is baptised as a particularly significant factor of the psycho-social distance between family and church. On the basis of data relative to various times and locations in France (and in an Italian parish) a tentative is made to adjust a logistic function to the distribution of a specific year and place and adjust to the variations of these functions parameters since the beginning of the XlXth century. This operation supposes that the age be measured on a logarithmic scale. Graphic representation and analytical adjustments are used to suggest and test explanatory hypothesis : m a population of new-born children, baptism spreads from baptised children to those not yet baptised. For a century and a half, the median age itself might follow a law of logistics. The realisation of such a model remains partialy hypothetical until we can have the results of inquiries now being carried out.
